CENTRALIZED INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CIMS) RETURN FOR NBFCS

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued a circular no. CO.DOS.RPD.No.7534/33-06-001/2023-24 dated January 01, 2024 requiring all Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) to file the applicable returns on new Centralized Information Management System (CIMS) platform.

CIMS is a centralized system introduced for all the regulatory and supervisory return submissions and it shall replace the existing XBRL system. As per the circular, all NBFCs shall be required to file their submissions from December 31, 2023, onwards in both XBRL and CIMS systems until further notification from RBI.

Every NBFC whether existing or new is required to register itself under the CIMS system. The Procedure to register under the CIMS Portal is as follows:

1. Send details of two users in the given format to Mr. Vinay Reddy, Manager (vinayvreddyr@rbi.org.in) and mark Mr. Rohit Narvane, AGM (rohitsnarvane@rbi.org.in) and DSG, DoS, CO, Returns Section (rs@rbi.org.in) in CC.
